Precision No Vig Calculator
A no vig calculator is an essential mathematical tool for analyzing betting markets and understanding probability. Sportsbooks typically build a profit margin—known as the vig, juice, or hold—into their odds, ensuring the total implied probability always exceeds 100%. By using this tool, you can strip away that hidden overround to uncover the true implied probability of an event. Whether you are performing educational line-shopping or evaluating mathematical expected value, our free no-vig fair odds calculator instantly processes the data to reveal the exact fair odds and the specific percentage the sportsbook is holding.

How to Use the No Vig Odds Calculator
The Mathematics Behind No-Vig Odds
To find fair odds, you must first convert the sportsbook's lines into implied probabilities. For Decimal odds, use 1 ÷ Odds. For positive American odds, use 100 ÷ (Odds + 100). For negative American odds, use |Odds| ÷ (|Odds| + 100). Once you have the individual probabilities, add them together to get the Total Implied Probability (which will be over 100%). The Sportsbook Vig is that total minus 100%. Finally, divide the individual probability by the total probability to get the true No-Vig Probability, which can then be converted back into Fair Decimal Odds (1 ÷ No-Vig Probability).

Sportsbook Odds vs. No-Vig Fair Odds
| Feature | Option 1 | Option 2 |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematical Purpose | Designed to guarantee the house a profit margin (hold) regardless of the event's outcome. | Represents the true, raw mathematical probability of an event occurring. |
| Total Implied Probability | Always exceeds 100% (e.g., 104.5%) to create the overround or juice. | Perfectly equals 100%, removing all artificial margins. |
| Payout Value | Pays out less than the true risk requires (e.g., -110 on a 50/50 coin flip). | Reflects a mathematically fair break-even payout (e.g., +100 on a 50/50 coin flip). |
